Birth Class Frequently Asked Questions

How much does the class cost?

The full two-part class is $150. Payment is required at the time of registration to reserve your spot.

Can I use my HSA/FSA to pay for the class?

Some insurance plans will allow you to use those funds for birth preparation classes. Check with your insurance.

How is the class taught?

The class is held live virtually through Zoom. This allows for real-time teaching, discussion, and questions while giving you the convenience of attending from home.

Can I register for Part 1 and Part 2 separately?

Yes. You may schedule Part 1 and Part 2 in different months if needed. However, payment for the full series is required at the time of scheduling.

Is this class only for families planning a vaginal delivery or natural childbirth?

No. This class is designed for anyone planning a hospital birth. Whether you are hoping for an unmedicated birth, planning an epidural, scheduling an induction, or having a cesarean birth, there is valuable information for everyone.

When should I take this class?

We recommend taking the class in the late second trimester or early third trimester (around 28–34 weeks). This gives you time to prepare without feeling rushed but you can take it at any time.

What topics are covered?

Pt 1 is urgent warning signs, labor and birth. Pt 2 is newborn procedures and postpartum planning.

Will a recording of the class be available?

No. While sessions may be recorded for quality and accuracy purposes, recordings are not shared. This helps protect participant privacy and maintain a safe, comfortable environment for discussion.

Will we receive handouts or resources?

Yes. You will receive helpful handouts and practical tools to reference as your due date approaches.

Is this class only for Adriatica patients?

No. We are honored to serve all families preparing for a hospital birth, whether or not you receive care at
our office.
